Some builders are bothered by the fact that the mirror cabinet in the bathroom protrudes from the wall. For them, there is a seamless alternative: flush-mounted illuminated mirror cabinets for flush mounting. Instead of being “surface-mounted” on the wall, this variant fits directly into it. The mirror is virtually on the same level as the surrounding surface.
How the flush-mounted illuminated mirror cabinets fit into the wall
The installation of flush-mounted light mirrors is technically not very easy, because the transition between wall and mirror should be as free as possible from visible boundaries. Without the right system, however, there are often unclean sections or gaps.
That is why SIDLER equips its new products with technical sophistication. The so-called flange simplifies the transition between cabinet and wall. Thus, the mirror blends seamlessly into the background. Since 2020, the proprietary development SIDLER CoverUp has been part of the basic equipment of every substructure mirror cabinet by SIDLER.
The advantages are obvious: the flange allows a design-strong finish between mirror cabinet and wall.
Other manufacturers require an extra mounting frame which is expensive and requires extra effort and material. All this is not necessary with our flange. In addition, it forgives inaccuracies when adjusting the wall cut-out. The flange conjures up a perfect finish, of course with the advantage that your favourite tiles can be laid up to the light mirror cabinet. The installation dimension is also clearly defined and exactly up to the stop of the flange. As you can see, we have thought everything through.
Special requirements for mirror cabinets
The light composition in the bathroom is detail work. Even small changes make the difference between a bright and pleasant atmosphere, between soft and hard light. So for illuminated mirror cabinets that are flush-mounted, some adjustments have to be made, because the distance between the mirror and the observer is much greater. Our illuminated mirror cabinets have a natural colour rendering CRI > 90 (Colour Rendering Index), which means that we can offer almost daylight-fast quality ( CRI = 100). A high CRI is required wherever colour precision is required, e.g. for make-up.
SIDLER has therefore designed completely individual lighting concepts for its three new models:
The 45° ambient light in the QUADRO is specially designed for use in a built-in mirror cabinet. This makes the mirror literally float, especially on rather dark walls. In addition, the night mode ensures that the flush-mounted mirror does not swallow too much light, even in the dark – the Nightlight provides orientation in a pleasant lighting atmosphere during nighttime excursions into the bathroom.
In the ENEXA model, the rounded corners of the flush-mounted lighting panel are particularly effective. And the simple design of XAMO is also perfectly adapted for installation in the wall,
Conclusion on built-in illuminated mirror cabinets in the bathroom
Only a few manufacturers offer high quality illuminated mirror cabinets also as built-in models, because the conversion is a challenge. SIDLER is even the only brand in Switzerland with flange and night light also in a flush-mounted mirror cabinet. In return, users benefit from a seamless appearance and yet make no compromise in terms of light composition.
