Construction of new SIDLER headquarters and facility

SIDLER Metallwaren AG celebrated the ground-breaking of the new building at Hofstrasse 42 in Romanshorn. Both members of the board and the management of SIDLER Metallwaren AG as well as the overall project manager and architect took up spades and helmets. The ground-breaking ceremony marked the official start of construction work on the new SIDLER headquarters. By the beginning of 2023, the approximately 50 employees should have moved in there and the production, which was previously spread over two locations, should be united under one roof.

SIDLER Metallwaren AG was founded in 1964 for the production of lighting fixture semi-finished products and later added production of light mirror cabinets. In almost 60 years, the company has become one of the leading Swiss mirror cabinet manufacturers.  In addition, SIDLER is a competent and reliable supplier to the lighting industry. It has always been focused on perfection and innovation. Today, the company is managed in the 3rd generation by Mario Sidler and Daniel Keller. 

Latest technology and improved workflows

The new location is only 1 km away from the existing building, so the routes are familiar. The new building will meet the new demands of the market, environment and employees. In addition to the new factory, investments are also being made in a new powder coating plant.

Particular attention is being paid to the logistical processes. Everything was scrutinized and analyzed. The processes relating to production, assembly and logistics have been revised. Here, the latest results and optimal processes will come together. The production of the lighted mirror cabinets, which will continue to be carried out at the Swiss location, is to be facilitated and follow efficient processes.

Construction

The entire planning was developed under the direction of MLR Baumanagement GmbH together with Stauffacher-Aemisegger.

In addition to these technical challenges, it was important to the new generation of management to be able to pursue entrepreneurial goals even better. The working conditions of all employees are to be supplemented with new operating facilities. The rooms are kept open, with clear lines. The mixture of friendly, bright workplaces and optimal workflows should reflect the spirit of the times at SIDLER Metallwaren AG.

An exhibition area invites external visitors and interested parties to take a look at the latest SIDLER products and lighting technologies.

An open day with the inauguration of the exhibition area as well as plant tours through the building and the production is being planned and will be communicated in due time.

SIDLER Metallwaren AG is looking forward to moving into the new building and will continue to rely on Romanshorn as a production location in the future.
