Wellness in winter: How to turn your bathroom into a winter wellness oasis
In winter, we spend a lot of time within our four walls. We like to make ourselves comfortable and enjoy the peace and warm atmosphere. However, the dark season also provides negative feelings. The cold and darkness can be quite exhausting after a few weeks. This is the perfect moment to turn your bathroom into a home spa.
Create a beautiful atmosphere in the bathroom
The basis for the home spa is the right atmosphere. In any spa or wellness area, it is the same. The right colors, pleasant light and matching accessories invite you to feel good.
For a cozy time-out in the bathroom, dimmed light is ideal. Indirect and dimmable light, as with our illuminated mirror cabinets, immediately creates more coziness. You can see our recommendation of the SIDLER Quadro and the SIDLER Enexa below. In addition, other mood lamps and of course candles can be used. This provides relaxation and positive mood.
The temperature in the room is also crucial: make sure that your bathroom has a temperature of about 25 degrees. After the bath, no one feels like freezing!
A nice scent creates a good mood
In addition to light and warmth, a pleasant scent also creates a positive mood. In fact, it has been scientifically proven that scents can trigger both positive and negative emotions.
The classic lavender helps to relax and can be used as a scented candle or as an additive in the bath. Other scents such as lemon balm or rose also show relaxing effects. The most important criterion when choosing for the fragrance is that you like it.
The right music
Just like fragrances, music also has a positive effect. With a nice relaxing music, the afternoon in the home spa bathroom becomes really perfect. However, the music should not be set too loud, otherwise it will quickly have a disturbing effect. Therefore, rather rely on soft background sounds. Nature sounds have a very relaxing effect on many people. With wave sounds in the background, you quickly feel transported to another environment and reminisce about your last vacation.
A hot bath
An extensive bath is part of a wellness day and is ideal for warming up on cold days. In addition, a soothing effect similar to that of a sauna visit can be achieved. The water temperature should be about 37 degrees. Bath salts are the ideal additive, as they contain many high-quality substances that care for the skin. Now just lean back, close your eyes, listen to the music and enjoy!
Pamper the body
At the end of the bath, which should be about 15 minutes long, the body can still be pampered with a scrub. For this purpose, you can use your favorite product or an exfoliating scrub that you have stirred yourself. Simply mix one to two tablespoons of sea salt with twice the amount of olive oil and you have a scrub that removes dead skin cells and prepares you for the subsequent care.
If you like, you can take a cold shower after the bath. This promotes blood circulation and brings the body back to normal temperature more quickly. Snuggled up in your bathrobe, you can now apply a nourishing face mask. The time during which this takes effect should be spent lying down. This relaxes and gets the circulation going again.
Finally, the skin is pampered with a nice body oil and a moisturizer for the face. Both are best massaged in slowly. This way you have a perfect end to your home spa day.
